At Bright Night Gin, we’re taking our commitment to sustainability to the next level, and we’re excited to share our latest initiative with you.
We’ve always prioritized environmental responsibility, from our distillation processes to our packaging choices. Now, we’re embarking on a new chapter in our sustainability story, one that allows us to make a more direct impact on the environment.
A Shift in Strategy: Planting Trees with Eden Reforestation Projects
While we’ve long relied on responsible partners like Australia Post to help minimize our carbon footprint, recent changes have prompted us to take our environmental efforts into our own hands. To continue our mission of sustainability, we are proud to announce that we utilising Eden Reforestation Projects, an organization dedicated to global reforestation efforts to plant trees on our behalf. This system allows us to contribute directly to ecological restoration across six countries and 13 different forest types.
To kick off this initiative, we’ve planted our first tree – a mangrove in Mozambique. Why a mangrove? These remarkable trees are powerhouses of carbon sequestration and play a crucial role in supporting marine biodiversity. They protect shorelines, provide habitats for diverse species, and contribute significantly to both environmental health and local communities.
Our goal for this year is to plant over ten trees, focusing on areas most in need of reforestation. While it may seem modest, we believe every tree counts in the fight against climate change.
Deepening Our Commitment to Sustainability
Complementing Our Existing Efforts This tree-planting initiative builds upon our ongoing sustainability practices. Our operations in Tasmania are designed to be as carbon-neutral as possible, we use solar power at our mainland warehouses, and we prioritize compostable and paper-based packaging materials. Please check our sustainability page for more information about how we aim to stay Sustainable.
