As the year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to raise a glass and reflect on what has been an extraordinary year for Bright Night Gin. From introducing new products to expanding our footprint across Australia, earning prestigious awards, and deepening our commitment to sustainability, 2024 has been nothing short of remarkable. Here’s a look back at the highlights that made this year so special.

Spreading Our Wings: Bright Night Gin at Major Events

This year, we embarked on an incredible journey across Australia, showcasing our award-winning gins at some of the nation’s most celebrated events. We kicked off the year in style with Ginuary Hobart in Tasmania, celebrating our home state’s vibrant distilling scene. Surrounded by gin enthusiasts, we shared stories, tastings, and plenty of good times, all in the spirit of supporting Tasmania’s thriving gin culture.

From there, we took our Tasmanian flavors to the mainland, starting with the Botanica Festivals in both Melbourne and Canberra. These events gave us the opportunity to introduce Bright Night Gin to new audiences, and the feedback was heartwarming. Our Pink Gin stood out as a crowd favorite, earning praise as “Australia’s best,” while our tasting masterclasses left attendees with a newfound appreciation for the art of mixology.

We wrapped up the year with our first major event in Queensland, the Good Food and Wine Show in Brisbane. The response was phenomenal, with many attendees declaring it the best gin they’d ever tasted. Our 700ml Chardonnay Barrel Aged Gin quickly sold out, cementing its place as a must-have for gin lovers. This event marked an exciting milestone for us, as we connected with new fans in the sunny capital.

From the shores of Tasmania to the heart of Brisbane, each event was a chance to connect, celebrate, and share the craft that makes Bright Night Gin so special. Whether we met you in Hobart, Canberra, Melbourne, or Brisbane, thank you for being a part of our journey—we can’t wait to see you again in 2025!

A Year of Creativity: Cocktails, Books, and Pure Delight

2024 was a year of creativity and innovation for Bright Night Gin. One of the highlights was the release of our cocktail book, “Cocktails and Dreams.” This 48-page guide to mixology not only celebrated our gins but also made them shine in every cocktail it inspired. From classic gin and tonics to experimental creations, the book was a hit with gin enthusiasts and was gifted with every online order and at every event we attended.

We also elevated the gifting experience with our brand-new “Pure Delight” packaging for our gin gift packs. Featuring stunning artwork and a focus on sustainability, this packaging brought an extra touch of elegance and charm to every order. Whether it was a Christmas gift or a simple thank-you gesture, our customers loved how these gift packs stood out.

Speaking of creative touches, we also introduced version 2 of our Zen and Tonic candle. With improved fragrance and the dark design, this candle brought the relaxing vibes of a gin and tonic to homes across Australia.

Award-Winning Gin Excellence

Bright Night Gin continued to shine on the awards stage in 2024, solidifying our reputation as one of Australia’s most awarded gin brands. We were thrilled to earn:

  • Gold for our Pink Gin at the Australian Gin Awards for the second consecutive year.
  • Silver for our Wild Tasmanian Gin and bronze for our Chardonnay Barrel Aged Gin at the same awards.
  • An additional silver medal for Wild Tasmanian Gin at the NZ Gin Awards, a significant honor as it was our first time competing in this prestigious international event.

These accolades are a testament to our dedication to crafting exceptional gin. From the bold, fruity notes of our Pink Gin to the earthy, complex profile of our Wild Tasmanian Gin, and the buttery, caramel-rich layers of our Chardonnay Barrel Aged Gin, each bottle tells a story of quality, craftsmanship, and passion.

A Sellout Success: The Popularity of Our Barrel Aged Gin

One bittersweet moment this year was the sellout of our 700ml bottles of Chardonnay Barrel Aged Gin. It’s always exciting to see our gins in such high demand, but it also means that we’ve had to say goodbye to this batch a little earlier than expected. The good news? We’re hard at work on the next batch, and we can’t wait for you to experience it soon. Until then, the only way to snag a bottle is through our Three Peaks Pack, which includes all three of our signature gins.

Giving Back: Planting trees and looking after Penguins

Sustainability has always been at the heart of Bright Night Gin, and 2024 saw us doubling down on our commitment to the planet. When our delivery providers stopped offering carbon-neutral shipping, we took matters into our own hands. Through our partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects, we planted 10 trees this year to offset the environmental impact of our operations. These trees symbolize our ongoing dedication to leaving the planet better than we found it.

We also deepened our ties to the local community by partnering with the Friends of Burnie Penguins. These dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to protect the adorable Little Penguins that call Tasmania’s Burnie region home. As a brand that sources Murtis berries from this very region for our Pink Gin, it was an honor to give back to the place and people who make our gin so special.

Shaking Things Up: Gin Cocktail Masterclasses

This year marked an exciting milestone for Bright Night Gin as we introduced our Gin Cocktail Masterclasses, sharing our passion for gin and mixology with sold-out audiences in Melbourne, Canberra, and Hobart. These sessions were not just about making cocktails; they were immersive experiences filled with fun, learning, and, of course, plenty of gin.

The masterclasses began with an exploration of the history of gin, from its origins to its modern-day versatility. Attendees were introduced to our three award-winning expressions—Wild Tasmanian Gin, Pink Gin, and Chardonnay Barrel Aged Gin—learning about the unique botanicals and Tasmanian water that make each bottle so special. This was followed by an engaging session on mixology fundamentals, where we demystified the art of crafting cocktails and offered practical tips on setting up a home bar to elevate entertaining at home.

The highlight of each session was the hands-on cocktail-making experience, where attendees crafted three standout cocktails using our three gin expressions. Whether it was a refreshing Pink Gin Spritz, a bold Barrel Aged Old Fashioned, or a classic Wild Tasmanian Gin Martini, participants learned to create cocktails that impressed both the palate and the eye. Each attendee also received a free copy of our Cocktails and Dreams cocktail book, filled with recipes to continue the fun at home. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and camaraderie as gin lovers bonded over shaking, stirring, and sipping their creations.

It was incredibly rewarding to connect with our community, sharing not just our gins but the Bright Night spirit of creativity, learning, and fun. We can’t wait to bring more of these experiences to even more cities in the coming year!

Stirring Up Creativity: New Cocktails for Every Occasion

2024 was a year of cocktail innovation at Bright Night Gin, as we expanded our cocktail repertoire with 15 new recipes that showcased the versatility of our gins. From festive twists to classic favorites and bold new creations, these recipes have become a go-to for gin lovers looking to elevate their cocktail game.

Among these additions were eight signature cocktails that highlight the unique flavors of our gin expressions. Whether it’s the fruity and zesty charm of our Pink Gin in a “Raspberry Gin Smash” or the warm, buttery notes of our Barrel Aged Gin in a vintage Negroni, these cocktails are designed to impress. The festive season saw creative recipes like our Blood Moon Ginger and Cherries on Ice Christmas Martini, featuring festive taste and garnishes that brought a touch of holiday cheer to every sip.

Classic cocktail enthusiasts were also delighted by the inclusion of timeless favorites like the Greyhound and our innovative riffs on traditional recipes. One standout is our latest signature cocktail, the Vintage Negroni. This elegant take on the classic Negroni features our Chardonnay Barrel Aged Gin, whose creamy vanilla and caramel notes add a whole new dimension to the drink. It’s been incredibly well received for its balance of complexity and ease of preparation, making it a star in any cocktail lineup.

We look forward to bringing the same enthusiasm to 2025!
