White Lady Gin Cocktail Origin
This creamy-white cocktail is believed to have been created by bartender Harry McElhone in 1919, when he was working at London's Ciro Club. At the time, his alcohol of choice was the crème de menthe. This was later swapped out for gin when he owned the New York Bar in Paris. Harry Craddock of The American Bar at The Savoy in London also had something to do with this drink! His 1930 recipe in the Savoy Cocktail Book increased the volume of gin.
