We are so excited that our Bright Night Wild Tasmanian Gin in its first year, has taken out Double Gold as well as the coveted Asia Pacific Spirit of the Year trophy. The trophy has previously only been won by whisky brands.
Wines and spirits from over 55 countries in the world competed in the strict triple blind-tasting at the China Wine and Spirits Awards, making this year’s 22nd annual competition the biggest CWSA on record. CWSA Medalists are the most respected spirits producers in the world.
Winning a CWSA trophy is the ultimate accolade for the spirit industry and for retail buyers. China wine and spirits awards uses a unique “CWSA Triple Blind Tasting Method” that the CWSA organisation has fine-tuned over 20 seasons and creates an unbiased judging process. In this method, the judges are not informed of the country or region of the gin; judges have zero indication of the bottle label; and they do not discuss their findings with other judges, so their private opinion is final. You only win double gold if all the judges rate the Gin as gold quality individually.
Bright Night Gin fuses the distinctive taste of Tasmania’s native bush with traditional aromatics. Distilled in a copper pot still with fourteen carefully selected botanicals including Tasmanian mountain pepper berries, lemon myrtle and native kunzea, Bright Night’s flavour is intense and earthy.
Created by multi-award winning distiller of gin and whisky, Damian Mackey, Bright Night new gin is off to a flying start. This is its second international award for 2022, bagging silver at the prestigious World Gin Awards in London.
Bright Night’s head distiller, Damian Mackey is chuffed. “We pride ourselves on showcasing Tasmanian ingredients- including our pure mountain water, and it’s great to receive international recognition. This award is a real affirmation for our team.”
