2023 recap, a gincredible year of awards for Bright Night Gin

Wow, what a year it’s been for Bright Night Gin! As we bid farewell to 2023, we can’t help but reflect on all the amazing awards and recognition our multi-award-winning gins have received.

Rather than jet-setting around the world to every spirits competition out there, as we did last few years, we decided to focus more locally this time. It was great to take a back seat this year and , our beautiful home country of Australia truly embraced us with open arms (and lots of shiny medals)!

A Focus on the Home Front – Australia

Scoring a gold at the prestigious Melbourne Royal Spirits Awards for our Wild Tasmanian Gin was such an honor. There’s something extra special about being celebrated in our own backyard. And the Australian Gin Awards in Sydney? Well, we straight up hit the jackpot there – two golds for Wild Tasmanian and Barrel Aged! We were grinning from ear to ear.

Melbourne Royal Spirits Awards – Where Gold Shines at Home

Scoring a gold at the prestigious Melbourne Royal Spirits Awards for our Wild Tasmanian Gin was such an honor. There’s something extra special about being celebrated in our own backyard. You could say we were more than ‘chuffed’—we were over the moon to have our homegrown favorite recognized in our very own state (Bright Night Gin is a partnership between VIC and TAS). It’s where our roots are deepest, and there’s something truly special about receiving such high acclaim on home turf.

Australian Gin Awards – the Double Gold Rush

We also hit the jackpot on the Australian GIn awards. The Australian Gin Awards in Sydney saw us land not one, but two stunning gold medals! Our time-tested Wild Tasmanian Gin and our labor of love, the Barrel Aged Gin, both left with gold draped around their elegant bottle-necks. It’s an achievement that means all three of our gins have now received gold awards at the Australian Gin awards, a feat that’s got us feeling like proud parents at a graduation ceremony.

Tokyo Whisky and Spirits Competition – A Toast to Silver and Bronze

Next stop was Japan, Konichhiwa! We packed our bags and went offshore for a jaunt to The Tokyo Whisky and Spirits Competition, and it was well worth the trip. Our Wild Tasmanian was a shining silver star, and our Pink Gin was adorned with a beautiful bronze. Tokyo treated us well, and we like to think we brought a little piece of Tasmania to the heart of Japan.

IWSC 2023 – London Calling with a Silver Response

Our Pink Gin, that delicious concoction infused with the essence of hand-picked murtis berries, danced its way to a silver with 90 points at the IWSC in London. Talk about painting the town pink! Our Pink Gin has now proven that it’s not only a darling down under but also a continental charmer.

World Gin Awards 2023 – Silver Medal Serenade

Back to London for the World Gin Awards, and our Pink Gin added another silver to its ever-expanding collection. This one’s particularly sweet as it harmonizes with the Silver our Wild Tasmanian won the year before. It seems our bottles are getting accustomed to returning home with a little extra shininess to them. Talk about putting Tasmania on the global gin map.

All in all, it’s been a year we’ll never forget. Our whole Bright Night family feels so proud to be crafting award-winning gins that are making waves both at home and worldwide. But most of all, we’re thankful to all the gin lovers out there who continue to embrace our creations. Here’s to an even brighter 2024!
